Why is white and vanilla aroma vanilla extract black?
What is the actual color of vanilla extract vanilla = black, brown, dark
The vanilla bean is green when picked, but turns dark brown when it dried and processed which usually takes at least 6 months. While the bean itself has many uses, it is thousands of tiny seeds inside the bean which is the most powerful and frequently used. You cut beans (pods) with a knife along the center to open the bean without cutting it in half. You can scrape the seeds from the pod, a little will go a long way. It is quite expensive, so be sure not to waste. It will have a sticky, pasty appearance. When ice cream Vanilla is real, you can usually see brown spots in the ice cream. You can make vanilla extract by soaking pods in vodka for a period of time log. I do not know how long, which is beyond my knowledge and experience.
