What gifts would a new mother want or need?
I already bought gifts for the new baby, toys and clothing and layers, but I want to get a gift or two specifically for 'mom'. I never had children myself, so I did no idea what that would be helpful or thoughtful. So what kind of things would be a new mom want or need?
Gifts for New Mom: Gift Certificate to get something like her nails done, or done her hair. It's always nice to be able to offer here and there, but as a new Mom is not always affordable! When she gets home from the hospital, depending on when you could buy or do, she and her husband a meal (dinner?) That's too much, not having to fear to dinner at a time like this … and being able to eat a good meal in good health. Maybe outfits comfortable that it does not feel like slum in suits with cute little tank tops … something she can be comfortable, but not feel stupid to go out. like a mumu. 
Uh …. Maybe you could give him a kit to the hospital especially for her. Buy a little travel bag, or perhaps even a diaper bag well if not already and put a package of underwear in there, shampoo and conditioner for the size trial, a hairbrush and toothbrush with a small toothpaste … jumbo maxi pads, maybe a little outfit (either return home or brought to the hospital as a rather nice dress she has to wear the hospital gown), maybe some lip gloss, trial size deodorants, some body spray … and put your little personal touch to it. You can do it all for under $ 100, and she appreciates really. Keep all things the size of first instance do not so expensive, and will be able to use all these things at the hospital.
