Believe it or not charms and charm bracelets have been around for many years. In ancient times the bracelets were actually supposed to be amulets. They would help to banish evil forces. The bracelets were worn in Egypt by the pharaohs as a symbol of their status as well. During the 20th century Queen Victoria would wear charm bracelets. Charms she had included beads and crests, and this lead to the popularity of the charm bracelet and charms.

Today many people enjoy wearing charms and charm bracelets for a variety of different reasons. Some use them as a fashion statement and others have them as a special keepsake. Of course charms and charm bracelets also make great gifts no matter the occasion. They are great gifts for a daughter on her graduation from high school or a birthday. Some friends choose to wear bracelets that are alike as a sign of their friendships. There are moms that have these charm bracelets and charms for each child as well.

You can find charm bracelets at various online stores and regular stores as well and they come in a variety of different sizes. You’ll find great charms at gift shops around the world and even at flea markets.

There are different sizes of charm bracelets. The size determines the available links that you can use. You do have the ability to remove or add on links to the bracelet if you need to. There are many charms and they all have different meanings. Make sure you carefully choose the charms. A ballerina charm can mean you will realize your dreams or a key can represent that you have a very happy home.

Over time you’ll find that charm bracelets grow. As you continue to add on charms, you’ll find that the bracelets become a part of you. There are various themes that can be used with a charm bracelet. Some go with an animal theme using bears, lions, and other animals on the bracelet. Some choose a sea theme with the charm bracelet and go with charms with the same theme, such as shells, anchors, or sea animals.

Charm bracelets and their charms can become family heirlooms as well and may be passed down through the family. These are definitely bracelets that are very cherished, since they have history that has been passed down for many generations.
