If I purchase rainbow obsidian separately and bring it to a jeweler, would they be able to put it into a ring?
I’m asking because I want to buy my fiance a very special engagement ring and his favorite stone is rainbow obsidian. I haven’t found a jeweler yet that carries it so I was wondering if I could purchase it separately and have them place it in the band as a gemstone. Now that you know my dilemma, please help me.
If you take it to a jeweler like Zales or Jared or Shane Co, no they will not put in a piece of stone that you bring in and they will laugh you out the door. Jewelers who do carry rainbow obsidian and are willing to put it into a piece of jewelry are going to be found at the local rock and gem shows.
