Why do a lot people say that 2012 is the end of days?

I have this book called Carlos Barrios – The Book of Destiny: Unlocking the Secrets of the Ancient Mayans and the Prophecy of 2012. It reveals the truth of what 2012 is really about. I can say this book is believable, unlike others sources about the 2012 topic, since the author is a shaman and Member of the Mayan Elder Council. Look up Carlos Barrios on Google or read the book. I recommend the latter since the book can reveal to you many insights on Mayan history and the impact they have on humanity today.

The reason is because that is where the mayan calendar. It is supposed to be a solar Plexus of epic proportions, which many people have, unfortunately, interpreted as the end of the world. Of course, this is wrong, because it is supposed to be a divine time, that will be defined on December 12, 2012. Of course, with all of these people who believe that the end of the world will happen, I will be outside on December 13, enjoying an ice cold beer with my fellow Marines. And when the subject comes up, I will just laugh at the very thought, and then just drink some more.
