How to Effectively Treat Dry Skin Beneath Eyes

For dry skin beneath eyes and on other areas of the face, the solution is oil. The problem is that most cosmetic companies use the wrong type of oils for dry skin around eyes and they end up doing more harm than good.

The sebaceous glands, beneath the skin’s layers produce a substance called sebum. Its purpose is, among other things, to moisturize the outer layer of skin-cells. In order to be effective, a cream for dry skin beneath eyes must contain oil that is molecularly similar to sebum.

Mineral oils and petrolatum are the industry’s standard to treat and correct dry skin around eyes. Petrolatum is simply white petroleum jelly. Mineral oils are simply liquid petrolatum. They are byproducts of the process through which crude oil is converted to gasoline; petrol.

They are not molecularly similar to sebum, so they are not compatible with the skin’s natural moisture. Oils from vegetables and other plants are very similar to sebum and can be highly beneficial for relieving dry skin around eyes.

One of the best ingredients on the market today is grape-seed oil. It works on any area of the face and body, but it is particularly effective for treating dry skin beneath eyes and repair damage around them.

It has a unique filming ability that makes it a popular choice for gourmet cooks. This filming ability also helps to lock in moisture and keep out dirt and grime that cause dullness. It is a good source of essential fatty acids and natural vitamin E.

Natural vitamin E creams are also effective for relieving dry skin around eyes and on other parts of the body. The antioxidant provides numerous benefits when it comes to the skin’s health, first and foremost is the work that it does to combat the damaging effects of free radicals.

Free radicals are primarily responsible for the outward signs of aging. They also play a role in the formation of cancerous growths. Natural vitamin E can prevent and repair the damage caused by free radicals. It helps prevent age spots, reduces fine lines and wrinkles and may help reduce your risk of skin-cancer.

The average product for relieving dry skin beneath eyes contains a synthetic form of vitamin E. We use enough synthetic chemicals in our world. We don’t need synthetic “E”. There are too many excellent sources of the vitamin in the natural world.

Grape seed is light enough to be used during the day and worn under make-up. At night, you can use Avocado oil. It is also extremely compatible with sebum. For dry skin around eyes and elsewhere on the face, you need a little extra nighttime nourishment.

The best creams are not white and heavy, like your mother used to wear. Those were primarily composed of petrolatum and they did not penetrate the skin’s surface. A night cream containing avocado is quickly absorbed and quite effective for treating dry skin beneath eyes and anywhere else that you have the problem.
